Mainsail Lodging & Development’s “Plates with Purpose” Delivers More Than 13,000 Meals to Local Families

Holiday initiative across Florida and Georgia turns dining into meaningful community impact

TAMPA, Fla. (Dec. 18, 2025) – Mainsail Lodging & Development announced today the results of its inaugural “Plates with Purpose” initiative, which funded an estimated 13,021 meals for local families facing food insecurity across Florida and Georgia during the holiday season.

Held from Giving Tuesday, Dec. 2, through Tuesday, Dec. 9, the multi-city effort transformed dining at participating hotel restaurants into direct support for regional food banks. Over the course of the week, 2,807 entrées were sold, funding up to five meals per entrée for partner organizations serving local communities. Additional guest donations throughout the week extended the impact, providing several hundred more meals beyond the entrée-based total.

Participating restaurants and food bank partners included:

“We’re pleased with the way Plates with Purpose came together in its first year,” said Joe Collier, President and Founder of Mainsail Lodging & Development. “The goal was to create a simple way for our guests to turn a night out into meaningful support for their local community, and the results show that approach resonated. Knowing this effort helped provide more than 13,000 meals during the holidays makes it especially rewarding.”

Local food banks across the region continue to report elevated demand during the holidays, with food costs remaining high and assistance resources stretched thin. The timing of Plates with Purpose provided critical support during one of the most challenging periods of the year.

“This kind of partnership makes a real difference,” said Thomas Mantz, President and CEO of Feeding Tampa Bay. “When businesses activate their guests around a shared purpose, the impact extends well beyond a single week. Thousands of families will feel the results of this effort.”

Following the success of its first year, Mainsail Lodging & Development plans to explore opportunities to expand Plates with Purpose in future seasons, further strengthening its commitment to community support across its growing portfolio.
