Five Florida Mainsail Hotels Raise Over $8,000 for Hurricane Idalia Relief

Posted by Briana McClain, September 2023

TAMPA, Fla. (Sept. 21, 20223) – Five of Tampa-based Mainsail Lodging & Development’s popular hotel rooftop bars held a “Raise the Roof for Hurricane Idalia Relief” night, raising more than $8,000 for the American Red Cross Hurricane Idalia Fund. On Thursday, Sept. 7, EDGE Rooftop Cocktail Lounge (Epicurean Hotel in Tampa); Hi-Fi Rooftop Bar (Fenway Hotel in Dunedin); Vantage Rooftop Bar (The Karol Hotel in St. Pete/Clearwater); Skybox Rooftop Bar (Residence Inn Tampa Wesley Chapel); and Beacon Social Drinkery (Luminary Hotel & Co. in downtown Fort Myers) donated up to 100% of sales from the night to support communities impacted by the storm.

“In times of need, unity is our greatest strength. I’m proud of our five hotels for quickly coming together to help those affected by Hurricane Idalia,” said Joe Collier, President and Founder of Mainsail Lodging & Development. “It was great to see so many of our guests, team members, and area residents come out to support the cause and help rally behind our Florida neighbors.”

Since Idalia made landfall, more than 750 trained Red Cross disaster workers have deployed to help people impacted by Idalia. The Red Cross has provided over 2,000 overnight stays in 32 shelters across Florida and Georgia. With the help of their partners, they have provided more than 209,700 meals and snacks, and served some 18,700 households with more than 28,700 relief items.
