Tampa’s Epicurean Hotel Names New General Manager

TAMPA, Fla. (June 28, 2017) – The Epicurean Hotel announced today the appointment of Kevin Scott as general manager of the 137-room boutique hotel. Scott will oversee the hiring of new staff and day-to-day operations of the Epicurean, located in the trendy Hyde Park historic district of South Tampa. Tom Haines, previous general manager of the Epicurean, has been promoted to vice president of operations of Mainsail Lodging & Development, Epicurean’s parent company.

With 13 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Scott comes to the Epicurean from the Hotel Max in Seattle, where he worked for three years as the general manager. Scott also spent seven years with Starwood Hotels & Resorts, where he worked in San Francisco for the W and the Westin St. Francis Hotel. While at Starwood, Scott held a variety of positions, including business travel sales manager, rooms manager, director of style and front desk manager, before he departed to become the director of operations at the Galleria Park Hotel, a Joie de Vivre Hotel. During his career, Scott has earned a number of recognitions, including Manager of the Year at the Westin St. Francis and earned his Six Sigma Green Belt certification at the W San Francisco.  Scott is a graduate of Michigan State University.
